The Musical Technology C-1 LINE CONTROL UNIT is actually two completely independent monoaural preamplifiers, to achieve absolute channel separation. It consists of two separate components: the audio circuitry chassis and the DC power supply chassis. Transformers, filament supply circuits and the pre- regulated plate supplies are housed in a separate chassis to eliminate hum fields from the audio circuits. No Transistor or Fet is used in the audio circuit. The input signal is amplified by a cascode circuitry which feeds a ”push-pull” follower. With a total feedback of only 6 dB the designer has reached wide bandwidth, high intrinsic linearity, low distortion and low output impedance. Power supply regulation of the MT C-1 is effective within a 10% variation of the voltage at the AC mains without serious sonic degradation. The plate voltage has been filtered via a passive double p LC network, with a total capacity of 1100 mF per channel, more expensive but better sounding than cheap discrete regulated power supply. The tubes filament supply is highly regulated in order to minimize noise. To realize the fullest potential of this design the MT C-1 uses the best components available for each application. Resistors, capacitors, tubes, controls have been selected on the basis of sonic quality and reliability. Sonic purity has been the goal of this design: the tape monitor switch and balance potentiometer have been removed and there is only one decoupling capacitor throughout the signal path. The low output impedance makes the MT C-1 compatible with all power amplifiers or electronic crossovers and allows the use of very long interconnection cables. Many hours of listening have been spent by a team of musicians and trained listeners to help the designers in reaching a very natural sound. The result of all this efforts is a high quality product of timeless value, with excellent musical qualities, which provides the unmatched natural sound of a tube preamplifier with the authority, speed and detail of a solid state one. Musical transients are sweet and at the same time reproduced with realistic impact. Furthermore the MT C-1 is reliable and easy to match to all electronic equipment.
The Musical Technology C-2 Line Control Unit is actually TWO completely independent MONOAURAL PREAMPLIFIERS, to achieve absolute channel separation. The result is a more precise imaging, a better and enhanced soundstage.
No Transistor or Fet is used in the audio circuit. Wide bandwidth, high intrinsic linearity, low distortion and low output impedance have been reached in a ZERO FEEDBACK CIRCUIT.
Power supply regulation of the MT C-2 is effective within a 10% variation of the voltage at the AC mains without serious sonic degradation. The tubes filament supply and the plate voltage are highly regulated in order to minimize noise.
Sonic purity has been the goal of this design: the tape monitor switch and balance potentiometer have been removed and there is only one decoupling capacitor throughout the signal path. Separate record and input selectors allow the user to record any source while listening to any other. Dangerous and noisy switching  on and off transients have been avoided using a muting circuit. The low output impedance and high output (35 V RMS !) makes the MT C-2 compatible with all power amplifiers or electronic crossovers and allows the use of very long interconnection cables. To realise the fullest potential of this design the MT C-2 uses the best components available for each application. Resistors, capacitors, tubes, controls have been selected on the basis of sonic quality and reliability. The cabinet is all brushed anodized aluminium.
